OUR RESORT

Our resort is built to international standards using local materials and traditional style.

The dominant architectural features of our resort are the typically Central Bhutanese use of hand-cut river rocks and the sturdy Himalayan Blue Pine posts and beams construction. The essential oils in the natural wood give our rooms the fragrance of nearby pine forests and impart the interiors of our resort with the warm, glowing feeling of being amid natural surroundings.

Other interesting details include mythical snow lion heads, garudas (a griffin-like being from Himalayan mythology), and a traditional Buddhist stupa at the main entrance. All in all a unique way to enjoy the comfort of the best elements of Bhutanese living spaces.

A PLACE WITH A BIG HEART

The hand-cut river flagstones complemented by a whitewashed stupa signifying the Buddha’s enlightened mind are just a few ways in which there are echoes everywhere of the exceptional family man who dreamed up this place with a giant heart

PRAISE: What our Guests Say

We spent three nights here. The hotel is only about a 15 minute walk from town. Our room was large and had a nice view. The bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms are large also, with a separated shower area and a separate tub. There was lots of counter space for toiletries.

PRAISE: What our Guests Say

Buddhist scholar and author Francoise

I have been a regular over 20 years at this hotel and it is one of the best in Bhutan in its categories: family owned, kind hospitality, delicious food, good wifi, nice garden, helpful staff. It is just like being in a cocoon… in the beautiful Bumthang valley.

PRAISE: What our Guests Say

This is a sweet, cozy place that does feel like a mountain lodge – including the chilly rooms, but the wood-burning stoves are a wonderful addition. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The lighting is a bit dim. The staff are incredibly attentive and pleasant, quick to respond to requests. The location is in the country, but a pleasant walk into the small town. It’s quite quiet at night, so sleeping is easy!
